Our Business

Luere is in the business of custom made‑to‑measure "bespoke" couturier services.

The Luere woman is a purveyor of style and elegance who demands a level of design, personalization, fit, comfort and quality that goes beyond what is possible with off‑the‑shelf manufactured apparel and standardized sizes.

Each Luere garment is an exclusive, unique product of impeccable tailoring—handmade from scratch according to the client's precise specifications and physical characteristics, and constructed using the finest materials and fabrics. Our clothing feature impeccable finishing, with enhanced detailing such as softer canvassing, silk lining and sophisticated trimmings.

Embodying an acute sensibility and flair for form and fashion, the Luere team works with some of the world’s best textile houses to offer a kaleidoscope of choices in materials and fabrics, while our global industry connections ensure that we have our pulse on the latest trends in fashion.

Background

We have come a long way since our inception in 2011, when we catered primarily to the bridal gown market through online channels—and ultimately, through word-of-mouth referrals.

Since then, we have seen a steady increase in demand for our services, both in terms of new clients, as well as repeat business from clients whose first purchase was a bridal gown.

We believe that our success lies in our intuitive grasp of our clients’ needs; our perfectionism; our commitment to unobtrusive, patient and delightful customer service, and attention to every aspect of our engagement with clients.

Team Luere

The Luere team consists of a core group of multi-talented professionals and frontline staff, backed by an international support team of artisans, fashion insiders, buyers and suppliers who work closely together to orchestrate the creation of each couture garment.

Here are some of the members of the core group responsible for Luere's success:

Lynn Lu

CHIEF DESIGNER

Lynn lives and breathes fashion.

With a background in Finance and Economics, and most recently a graduate degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Lynn is not your typical fashion designer. Her esthetics and sense of style is grounded not only by her deep knowledge of fashion primitives such as color, shape, silhouette, symmetry, layers and textures, but also by abstract mathematical modeling and optimization principles that give her creations a unique sense of harmony and proportion.

Lynn pays an almost obsessive attention to measurements and detail, and is dedicated to ensuring that her garments fit, accentuate and flatter her client's unique body type and shape.

Heather Donohue

MANAGER, SALES & MARKETING

Heather brings more than 10 years of sales and marketing experience to Luere. As a business graduate from McGill University, Heather first began her marketing career in the CPG industry. Since then, Heather has had the opportunity to work in a variety of industries where she has successfully promoted new as well as established brands to the market place.

“I wish there had been a similar bridal gown experience when I was getting married. The exceptional service and product detail that Luere is able to provide to each and every bride is unparalleled in the South Western Ontario market. Whatever the vision you have of the dream dress for your wedding, we at Luere will make it happen”.

Vivien Young

LOGISTICS

A seasoned logistics expert, Vivien excels in communication and workflow management. As Luere's international scout, Vivien is in charge of quality control and ensures that the production of each garment complies with Luere's high standards by commissioning the right team of modistes based on the technical specs of each dress design

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands, Vivien has accumulated a wealth of experience working with multinational companies and optimizing cross-border operations.

Vivien also coordinates the procurement and shipment of fabrics and materials as well as the negotiation of contract pricing and has been very successful at controlling Luere's bottom line despite the volatility in international currency exchange rates.

Bennie Navidad

MASCOT

Bennie's picture-perfect cuteness and unbounded energy is a continuous source of inspiration to the Luere team.

Employing his highly evolved internal clock and human tracking mechanism, Bennie ensures that no team member stays seated on their desk for more than two hours at a time without a break.

In addition to rolling on his back, fetching toys, purring and being extremely cute, Bennie also serves as the color-swatch on Luere's brand identity projects.
